Jae Youl Jeoung (b. 1992, South Korea) holds a BA Fine Art from Chelsea College of Arts, London (2018). He has been presenting his practices site-specifically based on different places and countries. He is questioning to himself what is existence and existent according relationships between human behaviors and natural environments. As an being and existent, his actions in these environments cause interactions. For example, he is describing himself as color gray. Black and white are considered to be gray in the black and white extreme, and the middle color, grey is defined as the encounter of others and fusion. Therefore, all the actions he does behave correspond to the ethics of nature. They are installation, sculpture, performance, photography, and painting.
Developing his concepts of understanding object and subject matters are the most radical considerations. And his obsession of “object” is the crucial element of understanding his poetic approach to bring lingering imaginary, and memories in the corner. Most of the works are featured his personal objects, it is possibly immensely ordinary but his approaches are subtly form. He has a perception of sensitization objects with human senses, and his symbolic and metaphorical interpretation creates new language of works and images. As individual memories of object and subject are all different, between the ideality and the reality we think are continuation of encounter to sealed or unsealed fragments of our own memories.
